I feel kind of crazy right now because it's my birthday and I can't seem to pull away from my desire to write this blog post, when I should be out celebrating. Some people have said writers don't choose to write, they just continue to do it, as if it will feed them like food. For me, writing continues to feed me, however, I never get full, so I keep on writing. And because I have adopted living a creative lifestyle, I genuinely enjoy every time I get to put pen to paper or fingertips to keyboard.
Being a content writer is different than being a novelist or lyricist. All day long, I get to switch gears from coming up with engaging content for a wedding florist, to then writing website content about motorcycles, I do this creative mind dance some more, until it's late into the night and I force my brain to rest. The opportunity to write takes my mind to places it has never traveled. Most of the time, I am writing for industries I have no experience in, which oddly is what gets me the most jazzed about what I do.
Having the opportunity to get into my clients heads and replicate how they want to present their brand through the written word, is a work that is rewarding, all encompassing and dare I say, challenging. Also, seeing sale conversions for my clients, through the content I write, has been a major marker of success for me and also a goal I strive to achieve for anyone who uses my services.
I am so grateful everyday to be able to be a full-time writer. Strengthening my creative muscles and continuing to meet interesting people and write their stories, is a pleasure beyond words.
Now it's time to celebrate life, friends, family and the next chapter of my life, writing included. Except, tomorrow I will write on a beach with a yummy glass of wine in my hand!
