While Instagram may be the rave, there is still a pretty big party going on at Facebook and your customers are grabbing for their next glass of champagne. Here's some striking statistics to illustrate why Facebook is still important for all you small business owners out there.
864 million people log into Facebook Daily
There are about 703 million mobile active users on Facebook
5 new profiles are created on Facebook every second
Basically, you have the opportunity to reach and be in front of a maximum of 864 million people all over the world on Facebook every day. Take the average amount a client spends on your product or service and times that by 864 million. If I did the math, Facebook could potentially be making me some trillion dollars if I had the ability to reach all 864 million users and turn all of them into clients. But, I'm not here to say this is possible, I'm just here to say Facebook is still super cool and very useful for small business marketing.
One key way you can convert your Facebook followers into traffic on your website is by creating an engaging cover photo. When I am referring to the cover photo, I'm referring to this:
What Can you do with a Facebook Cover Photo
With a cover photo, you have the opportunity to tell potential clients who you are, what your business is, who your ideal clients are and where people can visit you/how people can get a hold of you. If you have an established hashtag, you can also display this to let people know to use it in reference to your business online, plus, it's also another way people can search for your business on the web. And, when you use Canva, you can create cover photos that can be linked to your actual website! This is a perfect way to convert your Facebook followers into users on your website. Facebook cover photos can also be great for promoting events.
Here is a Step-by-Step Way to Create a Facebook Cover Photo Event Invite that Drives Sales.
1. Pick "Facebook Cover Photo" under "Social Media and Email Headers" on Canva.
2. Choose a main graphic or layout.
3. Add Event Details.
4. Link button to where people can buy tickets to your event.
5. Download and put it on your Facebook page.
6. Give more information about the event and a direct link to your event page under the description section of your Facebook photo.
With any marketing you do, you always want there to be a call to action whether you want someone to contact you, sign up for your email updates, rsvp to an event you name it, but you have to have a call to action for your marketing to be effective. The "buy tickets" button above is doing just that.
